SMS Account Verification

How consent and one-time verification messages work at WAGU.

About the program

WAGU is a product and service operated by Hero Not Found Inc. When phone verification is available, WAGU will send one-time account verification codes only after a user requests a code in the WAGU mobile application. This is a transactional account-verification program, not a recurring marketing or promotional program.

How users request a code

  1. The user opens a phone-verification screen in the WAGU mobile application.
  2. The user enters the mobile number where they want to receive the code.
  3. The user reviews the SMS disclosure shown beside the request control.
  4. The user selects "Send verification code" to request one message.
  5. WAGU sends one SMS containing the requested verification code.

Consent disclosure

The phone-verification flow will display this disclosure before a code is requested:

By selecting "Send verification code," you agree to receive one automated verification text from WAGU, operated by Hero Not Found Inc. Message and data rates may apply.

A message is sent only after the user takes this action. Creating an account, purchasing a product, joining the beta program, or providing a phone number elsewhere does not enroll anyone in this SMS program.

Representative message

WAGU by Hero Not Found Inc.: Your verification code is 123456. It expires in 10 minutes. Do not share this code. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.

Frequency, charges, and choices

  • Message frequency varies based on user-initiated verification requests.
  • WAGU sends one verification message per request.
  • Message and data rates may apply.
  • Reply STOP to opt out. Opting out may prevent phone-based verification.
  • Reply HELP for assistance or email support@wagu.com.
  • Mobile carriers are not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages.
